We can plan and plan, make sure that everything is ready, organize exact… And then the ILLUSION of control is shattered … When “Life” shows up and reminds us that we have no control. Then “Life” has the audacity to ask us, “why would you WANT control? What is so creative and interesting about CONTROL??”

Nothing… Absolutely … Nothing is interesting and creative about CONTROL.

So, after chatting with overseas “cyclist, author, researcher, swimmer, professor” person who reminds me, “if it’s not fun… Why do it?” I look into my wallet and see that which remains the same, never changing… love, international coin and a bit of luck. I always have and always will carry tokens with me that inspire, remind and make me smile… While traveling, spinning, dancing in the vortex of chaos.

I am 2, I have 2 shoes…

I am standing in line waiting to buy popcorn at the movies today. When something sparkly catches my eye. It was a small child dancing and twirling as she and het mother waited their turn in line.

As I am often known to do, I struck up a conversation with the mother about her daughters sparkly shoes. “Can you believe she is only two, picks out her own clothes and regularly goes to school in her pajamas and party shoes!” Wait a minute… I instantly fall in love with this child a kindred spirit to the fashion style “comfy-sparkle-glam.” After asking the mother if I could take a photo the wee one began to dance in circles, and jumping up and down. I am confident she was expressing, “I love shoes!!” Oh wait… Maybe those were my inner thoughts shouting in my head!

Shoes NEVER make you look old, too young, fat or tired!

As I watch this delighted child twirling in her floral printed dress, I can’t help buy wonder, at two, she is already doing “her thang,” who will she be at 22 ? And, what shoes will she be wearing?

4th of July… a holiday of independence, freedom and a voice of the people….I am feeling an overwhelming sense of freedom and independence from this incredible machine and the the voice in my head is screaming, “turn the key… Just f—–g do it!”

The question BeBe the biker babe(owner of bike) asks herself when getting on her bike, “today… am I intelligent, talented, charming or hateful?? Choose!”

“Ballsy and courageous” came to mind as I sat on that sleek black leather seat and adjusted my sunglasses…a self-proclaimed adventure seeker hits the road…

The eyes tell a story that is not told with words. When there is a story of silence, distance, miscommunication, joy, elation, confusion, fear, awe, it can be told if you want to see. We are amalgamated to other humans creating unbreakable connections and links that are most often obvious through family ties, community, jobs, beliefs. Then there are those connections, a binding of invisible thread that can’t be explained, that bring two separate entities together…to merge, unite, meld, fuse, combine, secure, fasten…slowly slowly over time, quietly, year after year, patiently…creating something stronger than each entity, separate, individually. The thread, for both is the serendipitous inspiration for strength, balance, growth….and….sometimes…silliness! The eyes of another can be the mirror reminding you who you are, when you forget. I will remind you…please remind me.

6/9/2013…coffee was made for me with expertise…time stopped…I held my breath…I heard my own heart pounding…blissfully peaceful.

6/16/2013… 2 generations collide…dancing and singing… A first…time is racing…I couldn’t hear anything…blissfully thunderous.

Two very different Sundays, both priceless. Both leaving me wanting, just one more minute.

Big Ben …it is the correct time!

As I was walking down Mass Ave. this clock, in a store window, caught my fancy. Specifically, the name of the clock,”Big Ben,” is what had me stop. The seconds on this clock are marked by the clicking of a feather. A design encompassing, vintage,
whimsical and modern. The name is also shared with the bell, within the bell tower, that has chimed the signal of time in London, airing on the BBC since 1924. The clock tower in London is known around the globe as the most accurate and reliable keeper of time. What do these two clocks have in common? Very little. ..Their differences are that of geographical location, a five hour time difference, their history(Westclox began manufacturing of clocks in 1904), and most undeniable is… Value. I see time as a conversation. It is not something tangible, something to hold in my hand. ~time is fleeting ~ time is a mystery ~ lost track of time ~ we can find some time… I will make time for you because, to me, YOU are valuable, not time. What is valuable to you? Are you willing to make time?

Big Ben, here…Big Ben, London…tick tock, tick, tock…
