Cowgirl up!
As a polymath the more I delve into something the further into the rabbit hole I go. It is a twisting and turning of words, definitions, usage, phrases…etc. I initially looked up “cowboy” which led to a gallimaufry of all things “cowboy.” Yet, I kept thinking about the photo…I took it because it reminded me of my sister Gigs, who is a true COWGIRL with cool boots! I saw this child size jacket in an antique store and the pocket caught my eye, “what were the holes from? Wearing it out? Something in the pocket poking through?” I wanted to know the story of the jacket. The owner is long gone and no one to ask, so I turned to my two best girls, New Oxford American Dictionary and her sister Urban Dictionary to create my story.
Cowgirl Up~ To be your own woman, forging your own path, taking responsibility for who you are and what you do.
(New Oxford American Dictionary)
Do what you gotta do and don’t be scared, Cowgirl Up!! (Urban Dictionary)
Cowgirl up and quit your cryin’…you are brave AND courageous.
Overcoming obstacles is an act of courage, as we can’t see what is on the other side. Cowgirls are not immune to fear, they move through it and do it anyway! Hey…With a bull on your breast…pretty damn powerful, you can do anything! She wore this jacket as her “Cape” and bright red cowgirl boots with spurs…that’s how I would have worn it.
