“Hello 2013!”
In December of 2011 right before the New Year of 2012, I attended a “Fun-eral,” (as my kids call it, why be sad?), of a man I knew as, X’s dad and X’s husband when I was a child. He did not know me as the adult I had become and I did not know how he had lived his life. Yet, I attended out of respect for his family and my childhood friend. The room was filled, everyone spoke beautifully, everyone wore the appropriate “Fun-eral” clothing. When his wife spoke she said that they had many conversations in the last months and when asked what he wanted people to really get, he said, “Live and leave without regrets. Live and honor your inner light.” With the transition of 2011 into 2012, I created what I wanted to live into; Unbridled passion, love, adventure and freedom.
Thus, in reflection of 2012: I traveled out of the country twice, worked and partnered with people on projects to develop leaders within the global Jewish community, experienced many “1sts,” learned to give myself a little slack, forgave, cried, belly laughed to the point of gasping for air, almost caused WWIII with the likes of a black lace bra, held the hand of a Muslim woman while she visited the Wall for the 1st time, hugged my friend the “butterfly whisperer,” visited the grave of a boy who died too soon, lit candles in the shoes of those who died because they were Jews and drank TOO much Palinko (Please excuse misspelling) the Hungarian version of “liquid evil spirits,” hugged and loved…..I lived into my intention.
2013~
Unbridled and infinite; Passion, love, adventure and courage!
I may need a whole new wardrobe for that! At the very least….some shoes! 2013 here I come…
I invite you to join me…jump off the cliff, throw your hat over the wall…just do it!!!!!!!
Happy New Year!
Good night…Sweet dreams…xo

LOVE IT! Though on the eve of “The Fiscal Cliff Fiasco,” maybe another metaphor would sound less scary.
